Honoring the Life and Legacy of Clifford N. Dull
The community is mourning the loss of Clifford N. Dull, a dedicated husband, father, veteran, and healthcare professional who passed away at the age of 56. Born in 1966 in Jacksonville, Florida to Cliton and Linda Dull, Clifford lived a life filled with service, achievement, and family.
Early Life and Military Service
After growing up in Florida, Clifford felt called to serve his country and spent 8 years in the U.S Navy as a hospital Corpsman. He was a proud Operation Desert Shield/Storm veteran who risked his life to provide medical care to his fellow servicemembers. His courageous service shaped the dedicated caregiver he would later become.
Career in Healthcare
When he completed his military service, Clifford began working in the healthcare field, inspired by his time as a Corpsman to continue helping others through medicine. He spent 38 years working in healthcare before settling down at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where he devoted 20 years to hospital administration and leadership.
One of Clifford’s proudest accomplishments was graduating from Geneva College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Development, no small feat for someone balancing work and family life. But with the loving support of his wife Amy, he achieved his dream of earning his degree.
Family and Relationships
In 1999, Clifford married Amy Jo Urban, beginning 24 wonderful years together as husband and wife. They raised six children - Joshua, Jared, Lindsey, Trista, Emmalee, and Thomas – who grew up with a father fiercely proud of each of their accomplishments. All six kids attended college and pursued professional careers, something Clifford was incredibly proud of.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren Ryan, Amelia, Gideon, Elise, and Sonny, who will miss their beloved grandfather greatly. Clifford is survived as well by his siblings Christopher, Kerry, Clinton, and Allison, who will honor his memory.
Remembrances and Memorials
Clifford passed away on November 30, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of service and family. The community is invited to celebrate his life at memorial visitations held December 4th at Hindman Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be held December 5th.
In lieu of flowers, Amy Jo Dull and the rest of Clifford’s family request that gifts be made to the Veterans Administration or mental health charities to support the causes Clifford cared so deeply about.
Honoring a Life of Service and Dedication
With heavy hearts, Johnstown says goodbye to Clifford N. Dull – Navy veteran, healthcare leader, loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed but always remembered for his commitment to serving others and caring for his family. His legacy lives on through his children and through the care he provided patients over his decades-long career. May we follow his example of service and sacrifice for the greater good.
