Gloria Carter, mother of legendary rapper Jay-Z, stepped out publicly for the first time with her wife, Roxanne Wiltshire, after their marriage.
The couple made an appearance at the Shawn Carter Foundation’s 20th Anniversary Black Tie Gala in New York City on Friday, July 15.
The nonprofit organization’s founder and CEO, Gloria Carter, who publicly came out to her son, Jay-Z, and moved the rapper to tears in 2017, looked joyous as she posed alongside her now-wife.

For the event, Gloria sported a black tuxedo jacket with leather lapels over a white button-down. She accessorized with a gray silk scarf tied in a knot under the collar and wore a matching pair of trousers and shiny patent leather dress shoes.

Her wife, Roxanne, adorned a glamorous strapless gown for the occasion.
Six years ago, Gloria’s revelation to her son left him in tears, realizing that she had been living a pretense for many years.
On July 2, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and their 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, celebrated Gloria’s marriage to her longtime girlfriend at Tribeca 360° in Manhattan, surrounded by loved ones.
